King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) Phase 1 - Package 2 – Infrastructure Works

Project Overview

Bin Omairah received the award of the turnkey contract for the Infrastructure Works within KAMC Site from the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning of Bahrain in December 2018 and it is scheduled to deliver this Project in December 2020. Bin Omairah’s scope of works under this Project is comprising all the infrastructure works within KAMC Site including paving the roads, electricity grid and its associated distribution substations, SCADA System, water, irrigation, sewerage and storm networks, water pumping stations, water tanks, and landscape including softs scape and hardscape.

KAMC Project is a benchmark for excellence in healthcare and education in the Gulf Region to be built for the Arabian Gulf University in Durrat Al Bahrain man-made islands off the south-eastern coast of Bahrain; it spans around 1,000,000 square meters of land donated for the project by King Hamad of Bahrain. The Medical City will be a multiple phased mixed-use development comprises of new academic and medical facilities, research center, on-site accommodation and other communal facilities to create a self-sustained campus. Phase 1 of the project will consist of a 288-bed hospital supported by on-site staff housing and other communal facilities. The completion of the development will see the capacity of the Hospital increased to over 500 beds complete with academic school, Research facility, medical hotel, a rehabilitation hospital, and on-site accommodation for both students and staff.
